David McGowan, BS
President / CEO

David McGowan is currently owner and President, CEO for: Inland Real Estate School, formerly part of Inland Real Estate Brokerage, Inc. He was Managing Broker of Inland Real Estate Brokerage’s Oak Brook office for 10 years and was named Director of the school in 2007. As Director of Education, he expanded the curriculum and increased the school’s offerings, enrollment and locations. With over 30 years of experience as a real estate practitioner and 25 years as a Real Estate educator, Dave has taught over 15,000 students. Under his leadership, Inland Real Estate School’s average pass rate for Illinois real estate exams is higher than the state average.

Dave is also past President of the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of REALTORS®, and former Regional Director of the Real Estate Education Association. In 2014 Dave was Treasurer of Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators (AIREE). He is the 2015 Vice President of AIREE.

Stephanie Krol, BA, MA, Ed.D.
Executive Vice President / COO

Dr. Krol has a proven reputation of excellence and professionalism among clients and peers alike whether in Higher Education or Real Estate over the last 20 years because of her proven market knowledge, integrity and personalization approach. Her multidimensional approach includes: luxury residential, estates, equine facilites, residential, and commercial space. She has developed an expansive Chicago, western suburban IL and western Michigan network of business owners, property owners and civic leaders. Her experience determing value, marketing and expert knowledge of inventory are essential in helping clients identify and close on prime locations. Dr. Krol worked in Higher Education Administration, Training and Development. Admissions, Real Estate and Non-Profit Business over the last 20 years. She successfully built and maintained a Legacy campus and brought a struggling start up campus to #1. Under Dr. Krol’s administration, the Legacy campus became best in the region for, year over year: Staff Retention, Student Retention, Externship Rates/Placements, and #1 Ambassador Program. She was awarded: Woman of the Year 2010-2011/National Association of Professional Women, for excellence in the field of education for those school accomplishments.

Under Dr. Krol’s supervision, the start-up campus achieved best over all: student retention (out of 42 goals at 1%), Customer Satisfaction (turnaround/bi-annual student surveys/2011-2012, from a -26 to a +25), Staff Retention, Service Learning Initiatives/Externship Sites Ranked #1, and achieved full-school and multiple-programmatic Accreditations. She was the VIP, Entrepreneur of the Year 2012-2013/Nationwide Who’s Who.

She has been an online and on ground Professor, and Curriculum Writer for the earlier portion of those 17 years also, running and writing grants as well as a writing summer camp and equestrian curricula. She was the Training and Development Manager for one of the largest online for-profit colleges (increased faculty training completion rate from 50% to 91% in first session with 63 participants to 100% completion rate in the second session out of 65 faculty. Achieved a satisfied trainer rate of 95% final session at 100%), training over 400 faculty to teach online.

She brings her experience and passion into her company TKG which is: Higher Education Management Consulting, Certified Mediation and Real Estate. She is a licensed Broker in Illinois and licensed REALTOR in Michigan.

Most recently attained: VIP member from Nationwide Who’s Who for Excellence in Mediation Services 2013-2014.

Betuzzi, Art

Art has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drake University in Journalism and Mass Commuications, Advertising and Public Relations. He had a progressive and comprehensive career in national sales, marketing, operations, project management and property management. Skilled in all areas of senior operations management, including training, sales management, budgeting, finance, purchasing, regulatory compliance, quality control, state and city reporting, due diligence, pricing, market analysis, human resources, administration, legal, etc.
He is an exceptional project leader; has managed projects to meet overall strategic and business development goals, while ensuring consistent growth in competitive markets and long-term prosperity.
He has been attributed with driving business to record levels in short periods of time: consistent record of success in planning, organizing and executing key, strategic business and market development initiatives to drive sales, market share growth and profitability at new or struggling properties.

His specialties are: Results proven sales, operations and project management professional with a progressive, successful career in senior level residential real estate and condominium renovations. He has a consistent track record of success in rapidly driving revenue utilizing exceptional sales, marketing and strategic planning skills, as well as the ability to recognize and optimize new markets, and secure advantageous partnerships with lenders. Has conducted over 1,000 presentations for groups sized from 5 to 2,000+ and is instructor certified for pre and post Broker classes.

Sandesh Bilgi, BS, MA
Instructor

Sandesh, originally from Toronto Canada, moved to the U.S. in 1994 and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Bradley University in Peoria, IL and a Master of Arts degree in Sport Psychology from John F. Kennedy University in Berkeley, CA. He has written several manuals on Peak Performance as well as appeared on national TV and in several periodicals including ESPN the Magazine.

Sandesh has extensive knowledge in team building and motivation. As a motivational speaker, he has delivered numerous workshops and seminars across the country helping individuals reach their goals and expectations. In addition, he has a great deal of management experience especially in recruiting, training, retention and professional development. He has consulted with top corporate CEO’s to increase performance and productivity.

During his tenure in real estate, Sandesh has managed over 1000 brokers and 50 staff; he has trained over 800 agents including most of the top producing sales agents in Chicago. Sandesh has implemented retention strategies to maintain the highest level of performance and satisfaction. He has been instrumental in helping shape the future direction of each operation by recruiting collectively over 250 brokers. With his guidance, vision, motivation and business development, he has exponentially grown production at each company as well as with individual broker productivity.

Sam Martin, BSc, MA, Ph.D. IFA, CDEI, MOT
Instructor

Sam Martin MA, BSc, IFA, CDEI, MOT is the owner of SamTheTutor.com, Inc. Sam has a PhD in Education and is one of 500+ Certified Uniform Standards of Professional Practice (USPAP) instructors worldwide. He holds Illinois Certified Residential Real Estate Appraisal and Real Estate Managing Broker licenses. Sam has been teaching appraisal and real estate classes since 1988. He has taught for a variety of institutions, most recently: Triton College, The Chicago Association of Realtors, and the University of Phoenix. Sam has written an advanced appraisal text book used in certification courses. Sam develops and teaches valuation courses for Realtor University, an online graduate-level institution.

Sam has taken advanced educational technology courses from the Illinois Online Network (ION), where he received the Master Online Teacher (MOT) certificate. Sam holds the CDEI designation from IDECC (www.idecc.org).

The Real Estate Education Foundation (REEF) has awarded Sam the Academic Scholarship three times. Sam has won three grants from the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators (AIREE). The Chicago Association of Realtors Educational Foundation has awarded Sam a Higher Education Scholarship three times.

Sam is a member of the Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals (ICAP). He is also on the Faculty Summer Institute (FSI) Steering Committee. In 2014, Sam was the Vice President of the Association of Illinois Real Estate Educators (AIREE) and is currently the 2015 President. Additionally, Sam earned Educator of the Year for 2014.
