Continuing Education

Illinois License Act requires all licensees beginning with their 2nd license renewal to complete the equivalent of 6 hours of continuing education per year by April 30 of the renewal year. In addition to the basic continuing education requirements, managing brokers must complete an additional 12 hours of broker management education.

Inland Real Estate School has a variety of programs to satisfy your CE obligation. Most programs can be completed either in the classroom or home study.

Broker licensees must complete 12 hours of CE consisting of

Core A, License Law (3 hours) ♦ Core B, Legal Issue (3 hours) ♦ Electives (6 hours)


April 30, 2017

Managing Broker licensees must complete 24 hours of continuing education consisting of:

Core A, License Law (3 hours) ♦ Core B, Legal Issue (3 hours) ♦ Electives (6 hours)


Broker Management (12 hours) – License Act of 2000 requires this program be offered in a classroom environment thereby allowing the student body to interface with the instructor and other participants in order to better understand current issues affecting the supervision of other licensees.

NOTE: Licensees can complete their CE educational obligation anytime within the two years prior to the scheduled renewal date.
EVALUATION – License law requires administration of a 25 question final exam for each 3 hours of continuing education. Most exams consist of true/false questions of which the licensee must achieve a minimum score of 70% to pass.
